About the Artist
Robbin Robertson Polter , a native Texan and graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology is a multi-media artist offering a broad range of unique and inspired works. Working variously in canvass, oils, acrylics, furniture and photograph media, her portfolio includes painted furniture pieces including rocking chairs, desks, coffee tables, chests of drawers, pianos, and treasure chests adorned with images varying from religious to whimsical. While classically trained in Florence, Italy at the Instituto Arte de Palazzo Spinnelli, Robbin's art also reflects a love for primitive, naïve and folk art traditions. Robbin has shown her painted furniture, drawings, paintings and photographs in Alphie's Antiques, The Cinco de Mayo Folk Art Festival, Club Clearview, the RED Gallery, Deep Ellum Café, the Grand Kempinski Hotel in Dallas and the East Side Café, Eclectic and Turquoise Door in Austin. Her work has also appeared in both the “Dallas Life Magazine” and “D” magazine. Her pieces are in private collections in California, Washington ,New Mexico, the Virgin Islands and Texas.
